The Last Day begins

Hello dear, So what if we don't recognize each other tomorrow? After all, it's been several weeks.
I know you won't see this before you leave. I see that your flight leaves Geneva in just over 4 hours. I will be tracking the flights as you travel home. We are definitely looking forward to seeing you.
This morning I spent doing work and I ran home to see if Emily had put out the recycling and she had...Yea. So this afternoon I spent with Jeff and his family. I had a great ride on Jeff's motorcycle. You would have been concerned about me riding at 65 mile per hour without a helmet. But I lived dear and I promise I will never ride Jeff's motorcycle again.
So we traded in Jeff's motorcycle for a side by side atv and 2 four wheelers. Jeff is having motorcycle withdrawal. Helping Jeff took all afternoon. I hurried to Dad's and got him some dinner and then ran (literally) over to my dads for dinner. I coughed a lot. My lungs did not appreciate the shock of having to work so hard.
I jogged back home and my breathing is pretty close to normal. Dad is doing good and we watched a basketball game together. He's looking forward to seeing Mother.
Well, we will see you in about 22 hours.
Love ya,
KW

Memorial Day

Wow, Alta got 15 inches of new snow. Only a couple of days and you will return sunshine to my life and the rest of the state.
So this morning Emily and I spent cleaning house in preparation for your return. This afternoon Amanda headed home and we did not go hiking. With the rain and snow, no one seemed very excited about going.
Dad seems to be in very good spirits. His first comments were about it only being a couple of days until everyone returns. He has enjoyed visiting with Amanda & Katie during the weekend.
So I rode my bike to the cemetery and visited those who have passed on and honored those who have served our country. Dad and I watched a touching program about those who have served in the armed forces.
While I watched TV with Dad tonight, I worked on the wind chime that's been in your box for as long as I've been coming to your parents. I have no idea if I fixed it correctly because I have no idea what it looked like to begin with. So you can tell me how to change it when you get home.
Know that YOU are loved.

The Sabbath

Today is the Sabbath. During Sacrament meeting the Primary presidency was released along with Sister Bird as the music director. Sister Bird was called as the Primary president with Sister Norton as first counselor and Sister Whitaker as Secretary. The second counselor was not announced because this dear sister is currently out of town and has not been called. We should be announcing her name next week.
I took an allergy pill this morning and have been dragging all day. We do have a whole flock of Western Tangers checking out our bushes. They make me smile. It did rain for most of the day and I'm so looking forward to sunshine.
So I need to think of something to write that will make you laugh and smile. Hummm
Springville is getting ready for your return and are prepared to celebrate with a full week worth of events. They are calling it "Art City Days" and I'm glad that everyone is looking forward to your return. Your first activity will be the Family Fun Run on Saturday. You of course will be at the front on the course with everyone following you.
Good night my dear.....I'm brain dead.....

S*A*T*U*R*D*A*Y

I enjoyed sleeping in my own bed. I have also decided to apply for a million dollar grant from the federal government to study the comparison of when I sleep by myself vs sleeping with my sweetheart. It seems when I sleep by myself, the covers do not move so in the morning I just slide out of the bed and the covers are in place. When I'm with my sweetheart, the covers are all over the place. So I'm sure they will let me study why there is such a dramatic contrast.
So did I mention that I put the non-slip mats down under the entryway and now it won't slide.
Guess what...the Western Tanger's have returned and are checking out our bushes. I hope the bird real estate agent gives them a great deal.
I did go for a two hour bike ride today. I was afraid I'd forgotten how.
So outside feels like and smells like snow. Alta has 4 inches of new snow and the benches should have snow tomorrow. Just so you know, Wednesday should be in the 80's so don't let the stormy weather keep you from returning home. Will you come home if we promise to finally have spring when you get here?
Emily's party went okay. She seems a little disappointed with how it went. They were inside the house when I came in and asked Emily if she realized that it was starting to rain. She initially looked at me like "SO". Then the light in her head turned on. She had taken the patio furniture out onto the lawn and now it was getting wet. Everyone quickly got everything back on the patio. I smiled at her growth when someone asked why she cared about the furniture and Emily said she didn't want it to get ruined. It's nice that she takes ownership and responsibility.
So I cleaned out the shop today. We now have a work bench and floor. I also made something we could use with our food storage. I'll have to show you when you return.
Last, but not least. I balanced our accounts and paid myself. I still like being my own boss.
Well, good night by love. KW

Trying frantically

So I'm writing this blog at 6:30 instead of before I got to bed. Maybe this way, I'll have better grammar.
This morning Dad got up early and seemed to be pretty chipper. He didn't tell me until lunch time that there were phone calls in the night. One phone call at 2:18 and one at 3:04. It was a someone wanting to contact Mary. The call came from outside the USA and Dad had a hard time understanding the person. He couldn't get back to sleep because he was worried about all of you and concerned that he could not understand the person on the phone. That's why he got up so early, he wanted to check his email. He did take a long nap.
So I went into the kitchen sink and a dead wasp was in it belly up so even the wasps are dying without you. I'll try to hang on. Today, in an effort to get back in your good graces, I:
1. Noticed the furnace fan was on "on" instead of on "automatic" so I switched it
2. OPL says my sweetheart has 2 overdue books and so I had them renewed. I guess I didn't get my wish of zero books.
3. Watered the plants inside the house.
4. Reset the driveway lights.
5. Cleaned out the gutters around the house. Tell mother the one on the front porch still had a rag blocking it from when we moved the drain. I must have left it there.
6. I cut off dead branches from the trees in the yard.
Snowbird announced that it plans on still being open through July 4th. We are suppose to get more snow in the mountains this weekend and they are advertising skiing for Memorial Day. Come enjoy the fresh powder. I hope your return will bring sunshine.
Emily has been influenced by you. I came home today to find laundry out on the line. I know, with the cloudy sky's she is tempting fiat but no rain so far. She's having friends over tomorrow so the house is cleaned up. She's also having some girl issues and wishes you were here. Some things you just don't talk to your dad about.
Amanda & Joel are at Dad's and Katie will be watching him tomorrow. I hope the weather is nice enough to go for a hike or bike ride. I look forward to sleeping in my own bed. Good night, I'll just cuddle up with your bear.
Love ya,
KW

Day 9

It's been 9 days since I last beheld Sarah. Just a few more hours and we will be in the double digits...can I survive? Yesterday the rain left and today it was only cloudy, so has the rain left me too?
Today I tried to earn my keep, I really did. I took care of Dad and he seems to be doing great. He still sounded a little choked up when he mentioned Mother in his prayer tonight. I think he loves and misses her.
So this morning I pondered how to turn on the outside water since the valve is buried in dirt and so far down. It seemed to big of a challenge to dig it out. So I put on my thinking cap and it hit me...I drop home and retrieved the shop vac (Yes, I know. Sarah brought it to the marriage so give her the credit). Anyway, I stuck the hose down the hole and sucked up the dirt. It worked like a charm. The water is officially on.
Tonight while we watched TV, I restrung the bee lights from the porch and they work like a beacon beckoning you to come home. Mother, come see the bee lights. Sarah, come inspect them.
Also today the garage door started acting up and so I adjusted it. If it acts up again I may just have to pull out my hair.
So what if the smart people of the world are wrong. Maybe it only takes 14 days to create a new habit and not 21. They've told us 21 just to try to control us. Does that mean that at day 14, Sarah will no longer have the habit of loving me? I can't bear the thought. I will always remember you my love...now what color is your hear again?
Love ya,
KW

The pearly gates

Lets see, last Saturday was suppose to be the end of the world and has now been postponed until October 21st...So doesn't the scriptures say we will not know the day or the hour when He will come? I guess that preacher dude knows more than the Heavenly Father.
We have a big volcano erupting in Iceland that is cancelling flights in Europe...including Germany. And Joplin Missouri has been destroyed while we are waiting for the flood. All that is going on could make you depressed but today we had sunshine and no rain. YEA!! No depression here because today was pretty nice. I did mention to dad that at least we are high enough that we will have a little more time to build our arc.
Yesterday I was tired and didn't write. When you return, you may want to watch the finally of The Biggest Loser. NO, I DID NOT WIN. I am feeling like a bit of a loser without you here in my life, but somehow I will survive.
Tonight Dad and I had a garlic chicken alfredo pizza...mother's favorite. Dad has been working on his personal history and seems to be doing great. This past weekend the front door was plastered with cut out hearts that said "I Love You" & "We Love You" I'm guessing some primary class did it and I've kept the hearts to show you when you return.
I asked dad if he'd like fresh sheets on the bed and for me to do laundry and he won't let me. He looks forward to Mother taking care of him. He's happy that you should be returning in a week. He is also glad that you are having this time together.
Becky called tonight and she has appendicitis and is doing better. Joseph is taking care of her.
Okay, so my brain is shutting down...no surprise there. Night Night.

Return to wolfpoint

So today I returned to wolf point. With no word from the wonderful women who have touched our hearts we are left to wonder. Were they in fact translated? Have they been taken by aliens? or have they in fact been taken away by some jealous witch to some castle and now we must start a journey of a thousand lifetimes to seek them out and rescue them
It was another rainy day here and other than that, nothing exciting happened. We will not be having our water turn again this week. Of course I don't mind. At some point the weather has to turn nice and we will dry out.
So when I arrived today, Amanda had already left so I was not able to ask her if I am in trouble. Maybe her not being here is the answer. I didn't even get to wish her happy birthday.
Dad seems in good spirits and is a little concerned about the money situation but doesn't know what else we can do. I assured him that we could get money to you if needed. Wait...that's it...you are being held for ransom and that's why we have not heard from you. What are their demands?
Good night my little chick-a-dee.
Kevin

A great Sabath Day

Hello Dear,
Thanks for the email and let me know if you get the finance stuff figured out. Your men are glad you are enjoying yourself, wanting to be supportive, worried about how you are doing, and looking forward to your return.
One news item: Joseph's Becky has been in the hospital. They are concerned that she might need surgery. She's at home and I'll help keep you posted.
So this morning we called a new Primary Presidency...We'll announce the change next Sunday. They announced that our chapel will now be the responsibility of the Springville West Stake and we are now the visiting ward.
Also, Brother Allen was the speaker and since he is over the buildings I knew he had a key to the basement. After sacrament meeting I asked him if he would open the door. He said yes. I went down and got Waldo Jacobson out of gospel doctrine I ended up giving multiple tours of the basement for all of the Sunday School time and part of Priesthood time. The basement of the old building is cool. There have been three buildings built on the site and you can see parts of each buildings foundation. Everyone was facinated by the tour and Waldo loved his early birthday present.
We had a big cloud burst today and I thought. It would be nice to be on the patio listening to the rain with my sweetheart.
Dave Jenkins from high school gave everyone a challenge of hiking up Mount Olympus as part of the reunion activies. I've accepted the challenge.
Know that you're loved and missed. I'll see dad tomorrow and let you know how things are going.
Love,
Kevin the Great

Am I in trouble?

So today I planted the garden. Somehow I goofed up and I know that I planted two different things in the same row..I can't even tell you what's been combined. Whatever it is, I hope it tasts good.
At 11:30 I arrived at dads to find all is well. Moments latter my nephew Bryce, that fine young man, arrived to help me with the door. Hum, I wonder who invited him and if Amanda is going to forgive that person for inviting such a fine young man to meet her...not that he had those motives....never.
We took the door to my dads and sut it on the table saw. It fits perfectly now. We had lunch with Dad and then Amanda, Bryce and I talked for about 2 hours. I think next Saturday the three of us are planning to hike up rock canyon...mayber I should break a leg this week so that I can't go.
I will have to ask Amanda on a scale of 1 to 10, how much trouble am I in? I wouldn't have arranged for a meeting of the two if I didn't see both oth them as very high caliber individuals and I am not putting any pressure on them. I just introduced them.
As for dad, he seemed to be in good spirits today. Oh, did I mention that I walked from my dads to your dad's? It only took 15 minutes.
I miss you

Amanda Arrives

Dad had a tough night and morning. He got a little misty eyes when he mentioned mother this morning. He misses her. He was a little shaky to start out with but he didn't even take a nap this morning. He seemed to be doing much better when I left.
Amanda arrived around 11 this morning. She's a sweetheart. Hopefully she will add comments over the weekend.
I plan on going over again tomorrow to fix the apartments bathroom door and to walk over and visit my dad.
Love ya, Kevin

Rain Rain go away

So I stayed here all day today...Other than the rain there isn't much to report. It did snow 12 inches in Beaver and Heber City. I sure hope the weather is better there.
Dad seems to be doing good. He went out and got the paper this morning and each morning he has been having breakfast in the kitchen. Next thing you know, he'll be going around the neighborhood.

Wednesday: raining still

Hi dear...if you are reading this. Dad seems to be doing well. I was gone for most of the day and plan on staying here for most of the day tomorrow. I am tired and wish it would stop raining. I met with the emergency management teem from Springville City today. We seem to be prepaired and we aren't expecting any problems. I hope you're having sunshine. Love ya, Kevin

Tuesday: I wish spring would come

Dad says he slept great last night and he seemed fairly energetic today. He did have me get him some allergy medicine today. So I spent the afternoon writing the policies and inspecting the farm in Payson.
So when will spring come? I'd like to say I planted more of the garden but it isn't happening in this weather.
Love ya, Kevin

Monday aka Departure day

So today my sweetheart left for Denmark with her mom and 2 sisters. It's hard to beleive that they left this morning at 11:10 and won't arrive until 1:35 am tonight. That is over 14 hours of airtime.
Dad did not sleep very well last night so he enjoyed a nap this morning and then a cat nap this afternoon and this evening. I'm wondering with all the napping if he will sleep tonight. For dinner I think I overcooked the Salmon but I think the peas and rice were good. Someone left some asperigus at the door so I cooked it...I failed.
I did plant the 4 rows of corn today and got me new office set up in the apartment.
Here's to missing you.
Love, Kevin

Sunday May 15th, 2011

Tomorrow morning my sweet wife, her mom, and her two sisters will be leaving for Europe. In order to communicate with them while they are gone regarding Dad and any other items of interest, I have set up this blog.
